Huddersfield Town manager latest: Borussia Dortmund coach Jan Siewert reportedly set to be named David Wagner’s successor
Borussia Dortmund Under-23 coach Jan Siewert is in advanced talks to become Huddersfield’s new manager, according to reports.Sportbild claim that negotiations are progressing quickly with Siewert, who was assistant manager at Bochum before taking up the role at Dortmund.2

It is believed the German outfit would receive in excess of 260,000 compensation should the 36-year-old be confirmed as David Wagner’s successor.Wagner led the Terriers to an improbable promotion to the Premier League in 2017 before preserving their top flight status with a 15th place finish last season.However, he left the club on Monday by mutual consent with Huddersfield seven points adrift of safety at the foot of the table.2

And Siewert is the leading candidate to replace his fellow German as things stand.He has won 25 of his 55 games games in charge of Dortmund since joining in July 2017.Siewert has also been involved with the Germany set-up, assisting the Under-17s and Under-18s between 2013 and 2015.Huddersfield entertain champions Manchester City on Sunday searching for a first win in two months. Mark Hudson will be in charge of the Terriers having been promoted to interim manager from his position as Under-23 boss.
