It will be the first time VAR has been used in a national competition run by UEFA.The head coaches of each of four teams involved were briefed in April on the use of VAR at the finals by UEFAs chief refereeing officer Roberto Rosetti.England head coach Gareth Southgate said: “We had positive experiences of VAR in the World Cup.“My feeling both internationally and domestically is that, in the main, the big decisions have been right. The purpose of using VAR is to help the referees so I think it has been a help. “You will never get a system that is 100 per cent fail-safe but the key decisions that are clear and obvious have been rectified. For me, that is a positive.”The Nations League finals get under way on Wednesday evening with Portugal and Switzerland facing off in the first semi-final; the Netherlands and England clash a day later to determine the second finalist. Both the third-place play-off and final take place on Sunday – and talkSPORT brings you full commentary of all four matches from the first ever Nations League finals tournament.
