And then, to much surprise, the 26-year-old was named in Unai Emery’s starting line-up for Thursday’s Europa League group stage clash against Sporting.Jenkinson was fielded on the left side of Arsenal’s defence against the Portuguese outfit, and he lasted an hour before being withdrawn for Sead Kolasinac. Numerous fans were shocked to see Jenkinson in the line-up, with many not even aware he was still at the club, having spent the last few years away on loan, first with West Ham then Birmingham.But Jenkinson remains with Arsenal, and he has a contract that does not expire until the end of next season.Jenkinson has now made two appearances this season2
